THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION 1994

                   THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION

This Movie the Shawshank Redemption was released in 1994 which starred Marvelous actors like Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. This movie was adapted from the novella written by the well-known and infamous author Stephen king which was Rita Hayworth and Shawshank redemption, not so many cinephiles know about this but the highest rated film of all time was also adapted from a novel also just like Godfather trilogy. It was a flop on box-office by doing the collection of only 16 million dollars which is very less and also failed to get awarded by Oscars by losing it to tom hanks movie Forrest gump.

Film does not solely focus on the story but I also focus on the other elements of the cinema also like color grading and cinematography in a very excellent manner with respect to the music and sound mixing used to show the character larger than life at times and also portrayed as someone who does not seem to have left with hope. Helplessness is the factor which was showed every time when people were shown in the prison but at the same time parallelly it shows the layer of hope and self-belief in himself that one day he will escape the Shawshank which is almost next to impossible nonetheless it was his tactical strategy which was proved as an aid for him to escape the worlds most difficult prison to breakthrough.

Cinematography of this film was spectacular in itself and it also has achieved certain awards in the field of cinematography from the American society of cinematographers. This movie was directed by Frank Darabont. The score of film was given by Thomas Newman. Initially tom cruise and tom hanks were attracted to play the role of the main character.

Celebrities played a role in making this film famous and get it recognized by the mass level of audience in order to reach greater feats. It also gives a bit of dark tone to the movie because it also includes genre of crime and drama in order to create the atmosphere of fear and kill the emotion of hope with respect to the factor of ambition.

The character of red was portrayed by peoples favorite Morgan freeman which gave him exact persona of an average citizen who has lost everything but than this guy comes who changes his life and provides positive vibes to everyone of his friends in prison and actually makes it more productive and guides all of them to make their life resourceful in order to live it in a fruitful manner.

At the end we would like to conclude that The Shawshank Redemption is the best movie of all time with respect to the each and every indicator of a film should be produced upon. Essence of nature is also utilized in a fruitful manner and the story gets more interesting as it progresses with time. The characters start maturing which is hard to show it in a film but Shawshank redemption creates with a spike of joy and charm of personality. Everyone should checkout this film in order to understand the psychology and also the elements of life because in modern era the films which are created and released are heavily influenced by this movie with respect to the story, dialouges and other indicators the Shawshank redemption has truly based its niche upon.

Here we can take example of the fact that a dialogue given by a character of the film Shawshank Redemption which was ‘’Easy Peasy Japaneasy’’ and this dialogue was transformed into pop-culture by ‘’easy peasy lemon squeezy’’ that was used in a zack Snyder’s movie which is very famous and well-known among the audience was ‘’Army of the dead’’.

Now let us discuss some of the greatest quotes given by this movie are as following: -

“I have no idea to this day what those two Italian ladies were singing about. Truth is, I don’t want to know. Some things are better left unsaid. I’d like to think they were singing about something so beautiful, it can’t express in words, and it makes your heart ache because of it.”

“Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies!”

“The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry.”

“I have trouble sleeping' at night. I have bad dreams like I'm falling. I wake up scared. Sometimes it takes me a while to remember where I am... I guess I'm too old for that sort of nonsense any more. I don't like it here. I'm tired of being afraid all the time. I've decided not to stay. I doubt they'll kick up any fuss. Not for an old crook like me.”

“I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy livin' or get busy dyin”
