Someway feel that the movie is long but still it has achieved some greater feats in order to receive certain awards like Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actor In A Film Joe Pesci, Venice Film Festival Awards and British Academy Awards etc.

STORY: -

This film Goodfellas was adapted by the book called ‘‘WISEGUY’’ which is a non-fiction book written by Nicholas Pileggi with respect to co-writing the screenplay of the movie while martin Scorsese taking the lead of writing the screenplay adapted from this book. Martin Scorsese is known for creating movies by adapting it from the combination of characters from real life, true events, books, novels etc. the story revolves around a guy who is introduced to the mafia while he was in his teenage and then he met new guys who were more experienced and becomes friend with him but as the story proceeds jimmy tries to make him the guy who is made but the story sees twist and Mafia gets into trouble. The story also uses certain Italian slangs and certain scenes are very well scripted in a natural way which makes viewers relate to the characters but also to the conversations which are conducted in a daily manner with friends and families. This kind of events in film does not make it boring on th other hand makes it more interesting to watch because of the fabulous performances given by certain actors which were also awarded and nominated by the academy and other awards across the worlds such as Joe Pesci, Robert De Niro, Ray Liota etc. Movie will not feel long and generic though it has generic approach also. The book was published in 1985 and at the time of adaptation it was created from the genre of biographical crime film. One of the famous conversations were the improvisations from the actors with respect to the factor of freedom given by the martin Scorsese to the actors in order to make it look more authentic in nature. Initially the movie was titled as Wiseguy and references of this was also given in the movies but then it was changed to the Goodfellas.

Color Grading: -

The technical part of the film is color grading which is a strike to the eyes. In those times movies are not that much focused on color grading and editing part so many scenes are not well edited due to the lack of knowledge with respect to the field of technology but in modern days color grading is one of the important part of the films here we can take an example of Avatar 2 which is considered as a visual spectacle from the creation of James Cameron. If we talk about Goodfellas then the colors were marvelous as per the vibe of bar and meeting places, also with the change in surroundings colors were also changed. Goodfellas was shot in reddish and Dark colors as per it’s story is based on Italian mafia. It is necessary to take care of this details while creating a film, colors in the movie is only noticed by audience when they are utilized in a visually striking manner to the eyes of the audience who are watching the movie.

Authenticity: -

The Italian mafia is showed and presented in a very beautiful and elegant manner with respect to the indicators of their dressing style while wearing a suit and then hairs were tied at back and the performance done by jimmy who was killing his own people from the mob family and the Italians were known to style their hair in a backward way. Ciggrattes smoken in the movie and the scene when tommy’s mother was cooking and eating with jimmy and henry was just like how the Italians take things with their family and certain factors were also taken by godfather series. It shows that hoe the capos working man for the mob bosses who used to do all the killing were so loyal to their friends, families and bosses that they will never rat anyone whether they got caught. It is always seen that Italians will always do a favor on other Italian. The religious discrimination is also seen in the film. Even Steven Spielberg also considers Goodfellas as an epic masterpiece in order to the witnessing the charm of originality. In real life also there were locals on the mean streets of new York who used to work for mafia in the late 90’s. The narration works in a magnificent manner that how story progresses narration also takes place from characters to characters more or less this movies is considered as the most authentic just like The Godfather with respect to the indicator of Organized crime.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: -

Cinematography of Goodfellas was produced by award winning cinematographer named Michael Ballhaus. This movie is the example of great mixed camera work while shooting certain a scene for example we can take the scene when jimmy, tommy and henry were burying the dead body in a graveyard how the whole scene was shot it so appealing to the eyes and strikes the feeling of tense in the air, while on the other hand they were in a car they are laughing which presents the madness in them at that movement while adrenaline is rushing in to their viens and they are not feeling any shame for guilt while committing a murder which is a non bailable crime and with the behavior of jimmy and tommy henry also joins them this is the human nature how we adapt in every situation in a very rapid manner. Soo the cinematography is done in a way that camera focuses on the changing behavior of henry while residing on the sides of mafia.

REVIEW: -

At the end to would like to say it’s a masterpiece delivered by martin Scorsese and their team by providing a beautiful story and with respect to the technical factors also like visually striking color grading which will be appraised by your eyes while watching the film and the indicator of cinematography will not make you feel bored, the chemistry of Robert De Niro and Joes Pesci, Ray Liota is also elegant with their extraordinary performance while portraying different type of character roles. Movie has a short time length but all the characters are developed while the story is progressing, the adaptation style of martin Scorsese should be praised that he is able to explain and present the characters both from the novel and inspired from the real life events in order to make people know that the Italian mafia once rules the streets of new york also as a Italian himself it feels authentic to cast actors who are Italians themselves while portraying the Italian characters. Scorsese films are famous nowadays also and the story has reached it’s end by providing justice to the characters of the film which does not feels forced so as per my opinion everyone should checkout this Classic Masterpiece Peace Out Folks!!

QUOTES: -

There are certain Quotes which are written in an intellectual manner which are famous in modern world such as follows: -
