Like most movies of the martin Scorsese even this one was based on mafia and the characters were Italians and so in order to reach the standards beyond the limitations actors casted in the movie was also from the Italian origin. Here we can take an example of certain actors which are always casted in the movie of martin Scorsese such as Robert de Niro, Joe Pesci, John manca etc.

Story: -

This Movie Casino (1995) was adapted by a book by the name called Casino: Love and Honor which is a non-fiction book by a reporter Nicholas Pileggi which talks about an aid received by mafia bosses who runs casino’s across the vegas and this guy called ACE comes to the rescue by running this casino and creating wealth out of it in order to satisfy goals of his bosses. The screenplay was written by martin Scorsese and co- written by Nicholas Pileggi they both started writing it’s script in 1994 and was finished by 1995 and Scorsese said that it will be a huge success and Sky has it’s limits he wanted to make this as a Crime/Drama genre in order to show the authenticity of how Italian mob bosses controlled the town by creating profits from the casino’s they owned and managed by a comrade. The Story mainly revolves around 3 characters Ace who was the gambling expert and was hired by casino mob  bosses to create profits by managing the place and his love interest ginger and one of his best friends Nicky who was with the mafia. Some of the characters are based on real life for example Frank Rosenthal who managed a casino in las Vegas from 1968 till 1981. The movie gets interesting when it shows how the love triangle gets formed between Ace, Ginger and Nicky. As the story continues the authenticity and the details are noticeable that how the mafia works under the noes of government and how everyone and everything is connected to each other but the bosses residing at the top level of the management and the runner of mafia family does not bother until and unless they are receiving profits from their casino’s and due to this the middle level managers and the so called “Made Man” takes advantage of it and creates wealth for themselves also without coming into the sights of their bosses.

Partnership: -

The 8th installment of the actor and director Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese is supposed to be a mafia related movie in order to show hoe Italian mafia used to reside in American states and their rule was not only for crimes but also for the reason of faulty white collar jobs also. This partnership was carried and enhanced by the screen presence of another famous and magneficent actor called Joe Pesci who was with Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese in the movie goodfellas which was also a cult classic and considered as one of the fantastic contribution to the cinema across the world by Scorsese. The nuance in both the films were shown but in this the different thing was shown as character of ACE was considered in debt and weak by the Nicky on the other hand in goodfellas Jimmy ‘Conway’ was like the strong and smug personality across the story. The storyline was amazing in order to make plot twists and it holds the audience throughout the film because of the signature narration style utilized by martin Scorsese in his films. Which follows in a designated path with the story continues narration also improves which bides the audience to the movie. This is one of the unique traits are seen in the directors such as martin Scorsese. The characters are narrating the story in the background while story proceeds. Martin Scorsese is known for creating the greatest art pieces but most of his movies are adapted from the books and novels and then he adapts the screenplay for the movie with the original writer in order to keep the touch with the authenticity of a story.

Color Grading: -

The technical part of the film is color grading which is a strike to the eyes. In those times movies are not that much focused on color grading and editing part so many scenes are not well edited due to the lack of knowledge with respect to the field of technology but in modern days color grading is one of the important part of the films here we can take an example of Avatar 2 which is considered as a visual spectacle from the creation of James Cameron. If we talk about casino then the colors were marvelous as per the vibe of casino and the gaming equipments also with the change in surroundings colors were also changed. Casino was shot in gren skiw and neon colors as per it’s story is based on casino. It is necessary to take care of this details while creating a film, colors in the movie is only noticed by audience when they are utilized in a visually striking manner to the eyes of the audience who are watching the movie.

Cinematography: -

The Academy Award Winning Cinematographer Robert Richardson has done the cinematography of this film which includes scenes when Ace was explaining the process of how casino works and the cash is settles in the other accounts and one of the marvelous scene shot when Ace catches the hustlers which is considered as a fraudster when camera shoots from table to table and then it explains how the scam is done and after that how the fraudster uses a machine which helps him to win the games which he should not be winning. One of the desert scene is also amazing because it shows how Nicky gets angry on Ace and the utilization of workhorse camera is also seen. Different aspect ratios were seen such as 4:1,11:1,3:1 etc. To shoot the steep light scenes he used to shot  the scenes in the afternoon from the time of 12pm To 4pm. The cinematography is ambitious with respect to the factor of sprawlingness because it is important to shoot the movies with the artistic style in order to capture the attention span of viewers and to take care they are not bored so to deliver a visual spectacle at least if unable to focus on story.

REVIEW: -

At the end to would like to say it’s a masterpiece delivered by martin Scorsese and their team by providing a beautiful story and with respect to the technical factors also like visually striking color grading which will be appraised by your eyes while watching the film and the indicator of cinematography will not make you feel bored, the chemistry of Robert De Niro and Joes Pesci is also elegant with their extraordinary performance while portraying different type of character roles. Movie has a long time length but all the characters are developed while the story is progressing, the adaptation style of martin Scorsese should be praised that he is able to explain and shoe the characters both from the novel and inspired from the real life events in order to make people know that the Italian mafia once rules the streets of las Vegas also as a Italian himself it feels authentic to cast actors who are Italians themselves while portraying the Italian characters. Scorsese films are famous nowadays also and the story has reached it’s end by providing justice to the characters of the film which does not feels forced so as per my opinion everyone should checkout this Classis Masterpiece Peace Out Folks!!
