THE PRESTIGE (2006)

This Movie the Prestige was released on 2006 and it adapted from the book called The Prestige and based on that the screenplay and direction was given by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan both brothers have worked in similar movies multiple times. Christopher Nolan is known for making movies out of the scratch concept rather than the adapting the already published work but this time created a cult classic which is considered as one of the greatest of all time with respect to the factor of opinions given y both the audience score and the critics.

If we talk about the humongous cast than the screen presence of Christian bale, Hugh jackman and Michael Caine mesmerizes the audience with their charm and compassion for the cinema and with them supporting actors like scarlet Johansson, Andy Serkis and Rebecca hall which includes the freshness of drama and the essence of romance in the story which cause the engagement of the audience in a very catch way that movie will not feel in a long manner or feeling of bareness will be incinerated because every scene is related to each other and the important part of the story and all the characters so in order to make it interesting deaths are also glorified in a very beautiful manner.

The portrayal of Nikola tesla was also surprising and it feels it, real but makes certain conspiracy theory also while film progresses the viewers will be urged to make their own prediction in a way that at the end they will be failed and shocked of the outcome also. The magic is expressed like emotions of the people and the applause magicians also deserve that but they also risk their lives so the exploitation part is also explored while creating this film. That how magicians used to apply every new technique and tricks each and every time in order to make their customers feel satisfied about their fees paid in order to watch the magician’s tricks. One of the rules from the film was a magician should never reveal his tricks to its audience the secret to execute the magic trick, because once it’s out to audience they will no longer be interesting enough to experience and the trick will be considered as a trash.

The cinematography of this film was produced by wally Pfister and this film was nominated for the best cinematography in a film also, so from that you can understand how visually expressive it’s cinematography was that how camera work is done when the assistant was died in a magic trick and then how bird in a cage scene was carried out with the following scene of how the truth is unveiled with the amount of thrill experienced by the audience in order to know the truth and trick created by the character of Christian bale. Blood is also utilized in an artistic manner which makes it so soothing for the eyes rather than the shock of dead and sorrowless comes from sympathy from the characters death.

Yowzah!! The colour grading should have been better as per the skills and cinema knowledge of the director but it was also not mediocre and works in a perfect manner as it should. Colourists have also done a great job at the time of editing and this movie was also nominated for the best academy awards in the category of best film design. The fact that set designs were on point and top notch with respect to the factor of how the set pieces and the costumes were designed while taking care the authenticity of how special costumes were wore by the magicians and the old times because of which it enhances the belief of the story which is portrayed in the film.

At the end the perspective of audience and critics meets up at the same point that it is the masterpiece created by the Christopher Nolan agreeing the fact that it was the adaptation from the book of same name but with the combination of acting and cinematography and the beautiful background sound utilized in a manner to build the tension in the air but the surprise for the audience will be discovered in the last 20 minutes the greatest magic trick of teleportation will be revealed and it’s secret will also be explained in a two different ways both with and without the help of the technology and the end will be satisfying as the justice is served. To conclude everyone should watch this cult classic becomes when the viewers will experience this story the cinema will be appraised and blast of joyousness will be produced and a soothing calmness will help the viewers to settle down and think about the film after its conclusion which always ends with a question mark?
